I'm amazed that they are trying to scam people who may have been scammed before. That's an ingenius idea. And since it's so clever, I think it may be time for a scammer to be the one who writes back..

So, for your viewing pleasure, here is what the email actually looks like in my inbox thanks to the 'print screen' command! Click to enlarge:

I love how he sends his personal photo along with the email. Also, that Zenith Bank logo is animated, too. The little Z spins. And what the hell is the APPROVED stamp for?! Hilarious.

Apparently not. He cares even less than I thought, because all he did was copy and past the bottom of his old email into this one. He's also impatient, because he writes me again.

Dear Desk,

I am well, thank you. And my family is well as well. My friend Rose Addo is going to appreciate this money coming to help her.

Thank you for showing me a copy of the check I am to receive when this transaction is over. I can not wait to see that money in my account, it has a lot of zeroes on it. But once I have that money, I will no longer be a zero.

I understand it may cost monies to get the cash transferred into my account immediate, but why does it cost so much to send in via courier service? $300 seems like a lot of money to cost to send something in the mail. Can you just lick a stamp, put it on an envelope, and send it on over?

Please advise.

- Adrein

Yeah, that courier service does seem like a lot. Mailing it would be a lot cheaper.

Subject: ONLY ALTERNATIVE

Dear Adrein Jones,

As regards to your email the reason why it looks as if it is expensive is for the following reason.

1.There is a tax fee to be paid to the Government here in Nigeria and this would cost=50usd
2.The courier service charge is=250usd

I want you to know that this is Africa and the Government policy here  and the cost of items are never the same to be compared to the US.

It is impossible for me to put a stamp and send it over this is because it is against the policy of the Government here and also it is a breach of agreement between my bank and the United Nations, what happens if this check gets missing? We do not operate that way i am sorry.

The only alternative is for you to come down to our office in Switzerland or Nigeria  and pick up this check without paying any fees.

Thanks,
Jim Ovia

I can understand the tax fee, but the courier service is still ridiculous. Maybe if you sent it "The Day Before You Send It" Arrival, when they have to jump into their time machine, then it could cost that much.

Dear Jim's Desk,

I can understand the fees of tax of 50 US Dollars. However, even if you were to FedEx the check to me, it would not cost $250. A simple service like that is probably closer to $20, if even that.

In any event, I am native to Nigeria, and I would like to come visit my family. I may come there to pick up check. How would I proceed to do so?

Please advice.

- Adrein Jones

I always like to see what they say when I tell them I am going to pick it up.

Dear Andrein Jones,

As regards to your email i want you to be well informed that you cannot compare the system in the USA to the system here in Nigeria,Africa. This is because we are a developing nation. So you would be making a mistake comparing the courier cost of the USA to Nigeria, cos there alot of stamp duty fees to be paid by the Courier company.

As regards to your email you are welcome to our office below is the address:

ZENITH BANK INTERNATIONAL
Head office:
Plot 84, Ajose Adeogun Street Victoria Island
Lagos,Nigeria.

I also want you to know that we have a time frame by the United Nation to ensure this checks are delivered to the Beneficiary,so i advise you come quick and pick up your check or else it would be returned back to the United Nation as unclaimed check.

Best Regards,
Jim Ovia.

Hey, my name changed! And this guy still isn't getting the cost thing. Oh well.

Dear Jim Ovia Of Desk Of Bank Manager Of Zenith Bank,

I am not comparing systems. That would be like comparing systems of apples and systems of oranges. They do not mix, but they do make a good fruit juice.

What I am comparing is the FedEx costs should be the same from each country. Their prices are universal. If I were to send a package from Mars to USA, it would be the same if I sent it from USA to USA. I went to the nice man down the street who owns a FedEx, and he said it should not be that much. Oh well. It does not matter now, for I not doing it via mails.

Anyway way, I have boughten a flying aeroplane ticket to come visit my family in Nigeria. They are close to Sierra Leone. Do you know of this place? It is where I was brought up as a small child. Would it be possible for you to send me directions on how to get to your banking place? Or maybe you can send a car? I will pay for all neccessary expenses that will encur on this journey.

My flight is for Tuesday at 9:30 AM my time, so it will be Thursday 11:30 PM your time, I believe. I do not know. I am not good with the time zones. I like Discovery Zone better.

I will make it within your time frame. I do not want the monies to go to someone else. I am claiming my check.

Please advise.

- Android Jones

That's all for now! Check back soon!
